“Time, an Instant”: an exhibition of the work of Rossano B. Maniscalchi
A photographic exhibition at the Castello di Lerici from 21 March to 7 June
LERICI – From 21 March to 7 June, the Lerici Castle hosts “Time, an Instant”, an exhibition dedicated to the photographic and audiovisual research of Rossano B. Maniscalchi, an internationally renowned artist and director.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through more than twenty‑five years of artistic exploration, revealing the evolution of a vision able to move consistently between fashion photography, fine art, celebrity portraiture, and film directing. A journey that places at its core the themes of time, vision, and interiority, inviting the viewer to slow down and experience the image as an encounter, a memory, and a reflection.
The exhibition project unfolds across four sections, conceived as stages of a single artistic evolution: from fashion photography, understood as a formal and narrative laboratory, to fine art research, where the image becomes a space of introspection; from portraits of emblematic figures of our time, portrayed in their most authentic dimension, to film directing, the natural outcome of an artistic approach that has always regarded the image as condensed time and potential narrative.
In Maniscalchi’s work, photography and cinema converse as complementary languages: photography captures the instant, while cinema expands it and transforms it into a narrative flow. Light becomes a writing tool, composition an emotional grammar, time a material to be shaped.
“This exhibition is also born from a deep human relationship,” says the Mayor of Lerici, Leonardo Paoletti. “Rossano is a friend before being a great artist, and I have followed his journey for many years with esteem and affection. Bringing this exhibition to the Castle of Lerici means connecting an artistic vision of international breadth with a place that is a symbol of our identity. It is a project I feel particularly close to, because it unites friendship, culture, and love for this territory.”
An artist with an international career, Rossano B. Maniscalchi has worked with major fashion brands, portrayed leading figures in contemporary culture, art, and science, and exhibited in museums, cultural institutions, and galleries across Europe, the United States, and Asia. His works have been published in leading international magazines and collected in numerous volumes.
With “Time, an Instant”, the Lerici Castle confirms itself as a place of dialogue between contemporary art, history, and landscape, offering the public an intense and immersive exhibition experience capable of uniting different languages within a profound and coherent artistic vision.
The opening will be held on 21 March at 5:30 p.m., and the exhibition will be open to visitors from 22 March to 7 June at the Lerici Castle.
